Her History

Ms Waraporn Dale is the founder of the fabulous Siam Corner Group of Thai Restaurants, it is now a decade since she opened the first Siam Corner in the Derby's city center, followed by further restaurants in Leicester, Chesterfield, Litchfield, Barton Under Needwood and Walsall. Siam Corner Group of Thai restaurants have become renowned throughout the Midlands. Since starting her first restaurant in 1998, initially working as the head chef, whilst at the same time being involved in establishing her restaurant business, Ms Dale has nurtured her passion to cook exquisite food using the best quality Thai ingredients, encouraging customers to experience the full flavors, aromas and authentic culture of Thailand that ooze from her restaurants.

Consolidation of Business

With the effort and attention she has put into creating each dish, the restaurants have proved to be of great value and remain favorite destinations throughout the area. To complement the amazing culinary skills of the Thai chefs, the front of house staff are attentive warm and welcoming. Each restaurant is adorned with imported authentic Thai artifacts and furniture. The success of the group has resulted in a number of local honors including an appearance by Ms Dale on network television, Thai cookery demonstrations including a spot on Radio Derby, and winning Derbyshire Countryside's Gustator's Golden Goblet award. The restaurant group as a whole is one of the few restaurants in the United Kingdom to have been awarded the Thai Select Brand by the Thai Ministry of Commerce for providing authentic Thai cuisine.

Like many successful entrepreneurs, Ms Dales's secret for success has been innovation followed by hard work and, just occasionally, a pause along the way to assist others in their desire to open businesses.

To sustain the standards of excellence that the Siam Corner Group have become famous for. Ms Dale also plans to share her brand of cooking through TV and publishing. Expansion is one of the keys to her success, she'd love to open a restaurant in London.

Future Developments

Ms Dale's strategy is to seek out creative ways to do business. She's considering interests outside of her current core business, these may also include branching out into areas such as cooking schools, Thai massage and spar, bespoke coffee shops with Italian influenced ice cream parlous, and other international food and beverage fusions. She also plans to develop her own brand of organic products to sustain her holistic approach to life and her sense of communal well being.
